Iris is huge in Sweden

This blog is not one to toot its own horn. I did not mention it when we were featured in Affluent Golfer magazine, or profiled on Al-Jazeera. (Okay, neither of those things happened, but there really was once a magazine called Affluent Golfer). But check this out:

> Den Seattle-baserade matskribenten och bloggaren Matthew Amster-Burton hade inte så stora förhoppningar på mejlprogrammet.

Furthermore:

> Amster-Burton har tagit till sig vad han skämtsamt kallar en “webblivsstil”.

The article goes on to use the word “exempelvis.” Citizens of Ballard, enjoy!

I have no idea what got translated as “webblivsstil,” but ““webblivsstiling” sounds like something very immoral.

Stacy wrote this article, by the way. Isn’t her Swedish great? I’m sure “weblivsstil” is “web lifestyle,” which is probably immoral.

As Babelfish doesn’t translate Swedish, could someone else do us the courtesy of a translation?

No problem! The first part translates as “The Seattle-based writer and blogger Matthew Amster-Burton has gone into a store for hopping programmer fathers.”

    Hmm…maybe I don’t know Swedish after all.

I’m gonna kick my IDG editor on Monday to find out if they did actually release the English version on the wire; if they did and no one ran it, I’ll see if they’ll let me post it on my own site. but I’ll censor the dirty bits the Swedes added.

The following translation is from http://www.systransoft.com (5 free translations). This is kind of funny. Matthew, I hope you aren’t really permanentlely uppkopplad.

Google helped to that soft up the members. The two years old webbmailtjänsten Gmail hit out the competitors with onlinefunktioner as compared common desk programmes and big storage scope.

The Seattle-baserade the food writer and bloggaren Matthew Amster Bur tonne did not have so big hopes on mejlprogrammet. He had become disappointed on other webbmailtjänster, but became quickly delighted in Gmail – and began to trust in increasingly to webben.

    – when I detected how good I liked Gmail became I more open in order to use webbprogram instead of common programmes and postit-lappar, says he.

Amster Bur tonne has taken to itself what he playful calls a “webblivsstil”. Apart from Gmail is the list on the onlinetjänster he uses in his daily lives long. There is included for example Tasktoy (att-göra – lists), Backpack (kom-ihÃ¥g and file archiving online), Airset (onlinekalender shareable of several), Giftbox (present plan dials and reminders) and WordPress that is the engine behind his matblogg Rootsandgrubs.com.

To last permanentlely uppkopplad with powerful programmes to disposition can facilitate the life – but the means also risks. Security and power interruptions is permanent problems. Of course more important dates, the bigger risk when the does not function. As in order to stress this was set a group precursors among Web 2.0-användarna for several halts during a week in December 2005. Bloggtjänsten Typepad low down after a miss successful stating row ring of the storage scope, concurrent as Delicious-användarna did not come to your bookmark after a power interruption on the computer center. Online-baserade CRM-leverantören Salesforce.com might close down a day because of database problems and got a mass agitated customers on the neck
