I think the calories theories are flawed to say the least.
It's a well knonw fact that people who eat normal and do sport reagulary are more succesfull at losing weight then dieters.
My 2 cents worth of opinion.

There's a little bit of a shiny side to it, of course. One thing that pretty much always works to make you lose weight is to change your diet. You could switch to an all-candy diet, and you'd probably lose weight for a while (I can tell you from experience that uncontrolled diabetes will make those pounds drop away. Pounds, nerve endings, hair, vision, sex drive, if it can drop, it'll drop). Just keep you poor body confused, and watch the pounds drop away.

At least until your intestines strangle you in your sleep

This struck me as odd:

Plain coffee, brewed, 8 oz.: 95 mg caffeine

Starbucks Coffee Grande, 16 oz.: 330 mg caffeine

Maybe the reason Starbucks coffee is famously bitter is that the baristas are grinding in No-Doz?
