Baby granola

This week on Serious Eats, I get all worked up about:

Organic Baby Food

Dr. Susanna’s is based in Seattle, and its shtick is international foods. There are currently six flavors. I tried Tokyo Tum Tum and Lullaby Thai; also available are Sweetie Tahiti, Baby Dal, and so on. They’re organic and, according to the website, “favor local farmers,” which makes no sense, since the products are sold nationwide. I guess the farmers could be local to the United States.

My favorite thing on the website is when Dr. Susanna states “Active parenting means teaching your child what to like…”

I know you, Matthew—you’re an active parent—so does this mean that, ever since Iris was about six months old, you’ve been whispering “CUPCAKES” in her ear?

Happy birthday, indeed! Do we get to hear about how the shark cupcake turned out?

I am always a little wary of the “local” label.. A few grocery stores here in the Northwest class local as anything that takes less than a day to reach the store. Which, really means just about anywhere in the US. Some call “local” the West Coast, which is also pretty daft.

I am interested in trying this stuff with Drake though. However, given his passion for puking if you feed him anything he doesn’t like, it might be a while before we try.
