Mano-a-clammo

In today’s Seattle Times:

King Clam: Innuendo aside, geoduck is the stuff of regal repasts

Innuendo aside? Maybe the headline writer didn’t see the part about Moby Dick.

At some point I’m planning to work up a home version of Seis’s Korean chowder, sans geoduck. It’s a spicy, brilliant soup.

You don’t get to write your own headlines? I’m thinking you could come up with something pithier than that King Clam jazz, although the word innuendo definitely draws you into the article…

I loved the part about Moby Dick! Paul was reading it to me and, at first, I thought that you were quoting Bill from Taylor!

wait…i know this is so not timely, but just now on the re-run of “bobby flay’s throwdown” from which i am inexplicably unable to tear myself away, the chowder-making guy just held up two insanely ridiculous bi-valves the size of guinea pigs (only, guinea pigs with disturbingly jaundiced-flesh colored elephant trunks), and said “these are my gooey-duck clams!”

he keeps SAYING it! what IS THAT???

i’ve been thinking it in my head like “JEE-oh-duck.” what fresh hell is this???

heather, as Iris put it, “Is the geoduck very, very gooey?”
