Iris: I made you some food to eat.
Me: Great! What kind of food is it?
Iris: It’s polenta. And nothing else. Just a big glob of polenta.

“Big glob” is an excellent way to describe polenta, which is nothing more than corn meal mush, food of cash-strapped newlyweds.
